Thank you so much for your wonderful story on Shen Yun Performing Arts and its only Jewish MC, Leeshai Lemish! Shen Yun performances unfold the beauty of an ancient civilization which is, as you note in your article, strikingly similar to our own. I have been involved in promoting Shen Yun as a volunteer since it first came to Philadelphia in 2007. I am consistently moved by the messages of compassion, honor and grace, which come through in every single performance that I have seen. I am particularly committed to introducing Shen Yun and traditional Chinese culture to the Jewish community in our local area. We know very well how delicious Chinese food is and that we can depend on Chinese restaurants to be open on Christmas – we are so grateful for this – but how much do we really know about this beautiful culture? Shen Yun is a perfect way for any of us to learn about traditional Chinese culture. Lou Boudreau? Come on. He was brought up a Catholic, he didn’t tell a soul about his Jewish mother. He was outed well after his career was over. I’m not a Talmudist, just give me a guy with at least one Jewish parent, who isn’t practicing another religion and proudly identifies as a Jew. We still need a shortstop.

My character was always supposed to be Jewish ! I tell it it is ! With the creation of a Jewish State and the survival of that state for 63 years , the world can accept a Jewish Superhero with Brawn as well as Brains ! Oi- vay ! has summoned help for many a Jew over the centuries ! The only thing left for me was to give ewish children the visualization of this Super- Jew called Shaloman ! More strength than your enemy is what keeps the peace ! and I felt an observant Man had to tend to prayers and fatherly duties ! That when I knew my Hero could not be a human ! he had to be more etherial so he could be available to help ! The villain of all Jews was Dr. Traif ! My books not only entertain Kids but educate them aBOUT THEIR hERITAGE ! tHE hOLOCAUST ISSUE ALSO ( pg-12 ) TELLS THEM ABOUT THE hORRIFIC history of their ancestors that is further back with each passing year! There never was such a thing as I grew up !……….There is NOW !!!!!

It figures that those raised with stories of biblical proportions would excel in the world of comic superheroes. If only there were a superhero to make peace in the Middle East, that would make me “kvell” with pride!
